photoshoot finished edits

these are my final finished advertising images with the wording and the logo

photoshoot take 2

i had my tutorial recently and was told that my images needed to be more subtle with a more lighter background so i decided to do another shoot. my models werent available on the free days so i managed to find others to help me. i shot these images outside to get a more natural look..hence more subtle. and i decided to not get the model to cry but to just make her look naturally unhappy.

test shots

in these images i used my flat mate gemma to pose as my main model so i could get a few test shots of what i want to get out of my final photos. i also used my boyfriend chris as the child abuser.

photoshop examples

to get a good idea of what i want my shoot pictures to look like and to test out whether i could photoshop a persons face to look like a doll, i did some photoshop experiments.

In these images i took an image of a little girl that had been made to look like a puppet doll and cut her out and downsized her then photoshopped her into an image on a ventriloquist man with a puppet on his knee.

In these images i took a picture of an abused child from google images and photoshopped her mouth to be able to open and close like a puppet and i photoshopped her eyebrows to look like they had been painted on.

NSPCC research

for my research i looked into other NSPCC advertising campaign to see how they are constructed and what they are trying to portray. when looking at other campaigns i realised that they all show children and/or something that relates to a child, i.e. toys.

Dominik Gigler

Gigler is a photographer that photographs for many advertisements, he has done Sony, KPN, Carhartt and of course the NSPCC. Gigler is the photographer that photographed the advertisement that i am basing my photoshoot on. he also done a few more photos for the nspcc.

ideas, research.

for this project i have thought of a few ideas that i would like to persue.

Idea 1-  child as a puppet: i want to do a photoshoot of a child being used as a puppet to show that the child
is always being controlled by someone and cant always talk to someone else about theyre problems.
Idea 2 - Child ventriloquist: for my second idea it is very similar to idea 1 but instead of puppets on strings its going to be a ventriloquist (the abuser) with his doll (a child). the abuser would be controlling the child in what they say and do very much like a ventriloquist and it relates to the nspcc posters that i am basing my photoshoots on as the children in the posters arent able to talk.
Idea 3- objects in a bad location: for this idea i want to do a photoshoot with no people in it but instead i would put childs toys and objects in a bad location to show that they dont belong there and that children deserve better. for example a childs bib near some garbage cans to show that some childs search for there food in the bins.

Idea 4- child with a shadow of abuse: for this idea i want to create a photoshoot of a child cowering somewhere with a shadow of abuse of them, like a shadow of a hand or a person with intent to harm.

Idea 5- childs mouth covered: for this idea i would like to portray a childs mouth being covered in some way with hopefully a mans hand to show that the child isnt allowed to talk.
